Have a Question?
Here are answers to some of the questions we're asked most often. If yours isn't here, we'd be happy to answer it
Getting Started
-
Most Drum Roll projects take about a month.
Since each phase builds on the one before it, the schedule depends on both of us responding promptly as we move through the process.
-
If there are things you like about about your current website, we’ll certainly use those ideas in our Discovery Phase. We don’t believe in changing things just for the sake of changing them.
-
If you already have photographs or other images you'd like to use, we'll review them together and include them whenever they're a good fit for your new website.
The words on your website are one of its most important parts. We'll work together to develop the content, and you don't have to be a great writer.
We'll gladly help shape and edit the text so it sounds natural and accurately reflects your business.
You don't have to write polished website copy. Just bring your knowledge of your business—whether that's bullet points, notes, brochures, or simply a conversation. We'll help organize, refine, and edit that information into clear, effective website content.
Ownership & Hosting
-
You do.
Once the project is complete and paid for, your website is yours. Ownership and copyright are transferred to you.
-
Your website will be hosted on Squarespace.
I chose Squarespace because it's reliable, secure, and easy for clients to maintain after launch. I'll handle the technical setup and make sure everything is ready before your website goes live. If you'd like to learn more about Squarespace, you can visit their website.
-
A domain name is simply the internet address for your website, like www.mycompany.com.
If you already have a domain, we can use that, or we can assist you getting a new one.
Cost & Billing
-
No. Once your project is complete, there are no additional charges from us unless we both agree on a new project.
There are two ongoing costs associated with every website:
• Website hosting through Squarespace (currently about $25–30 per month).
• Your domain name (typically around $10–20 per year).
Both are billed directly by the provider, and we do not receive any portion of those fees.
-
We believe in earning our fees. That's why you'll always receive an approved deliverable before you're asked to pay for it.
-
The Drum Roll Method moves through the project one phase at a time. Each phase gives us the opportunity to review the work, make refinements if needed, and agree on the next step together.
By the time we reach the end of the project, there shouldn't be any surprises. We've been reviewing and approving the work together every step of the way
After Launch
-
You can have anybody maintain it for you that you want – including us.
We'll be glad to maintain your website under a separate service agreement, but that's completely optional.
-
Absolutely.
When your website is complete, we'll be glad to provide a short training session so you're comfortable making your own updates.
